Happy New Year!

It has been a while since I have blogged. It's a New Year. Things will change. Things are changing. I'm going to start posting more regularly!

I am going to lose one of my jobs in less than a week (but this is in a way good news). I am looking forward to being able to spend some proper time sewing! I have been working so much for the past few months, it feels like all I do is work. In Hungary they say that how you spend January 1st is how the rest of the year will go. I didn't work that day. But I have been working every day since then and will only get my next day off next Friday so it doesn't seem to be very true...

I have a couple of goals for this year:

  •  I would like to exercise more, in the autumn I swam almost every day but then I went away on holiday and kind of lost that rhythm. So I'm aiming for exercising at least 5 times a week.
  • I want to not move flats. I realised why I always feel so unsettled. I move so much more often than I thought I did. I counted, I have moved once a year on average for every year of my life. And since I was 18 I have moved TWICE A YEAR ON AVERAGE. It is ridiculous. Of course it has had its benefits - I have lived with lots of different types of people and in lots of different places but it is tiring... So, this year I want to move max once.
  • I really want to improve my Hungarian. I have started reading Ablak Zsiraf :) It's a book which every Hungarian child learns to read with, it's a lexicon aimed at 7-10 year olds :) I think it's great! I want to finish that in the next few months.
  • And I would like to finally, properly start up an etsy shop!

Here is a dress I made last year. This is my most worn dress these days. I wear it probably three times a week! I love it. I need more long sleeved dresses. It's the Jonny pattern from BurdaStyle.

The only changes I made were to add pockets and to lengthen the sleeves and the skirt.

I'm so proud of myself - I actually bought a solid fabric and used it! A dress which doesn't have a print to clash with everything else I own!

The buttons have little gold crowns on them.

You can't really see it, but behind us was a sign saying something like "no sitting on the steps, no hanging out". So many signs in that area "Cameras are watching you", "No trespassing" etc etc. More signs than in Germany!

  1. Happy New Year to you, too! It was lovely meeting you last year. I love your dress.

  2. I really enjoyed our meeting too :)

  3. Jodi, the dress is fabulous and it fits you perfectly!! Have a wondrous year!!
