Me-Made-May 23-31

Me-Made-May is over. I am actually pretty glad. It was such a long, tiring month. I can't remember ever working so many hours before... it made the month pass so quickly. It's good to have some extra money though. I will go to New York soon for two weeks!

At the start of the month I had two goals - to not repeat the same me-made outfits in one week, and to make myself 4 new items. The first one I am pretty sure I managed (have to check the pics to be sure) but the second... haha. I don't think I even made myself one thing.... I got kinda snowed under with other things.

May 23

Not the most flattering angle. I can hold this pose much longer than I used to be able to.  Getting stronger!

This was a pretty great day. I worked in the morning. Then went to the gym (didn't get pics of my gym outfit though).

There was something shocking happening. Just can't remember what it was.....

Then later on I went to the goodbye party of one of my hoop classmates. It was held in the pole dance studio where we go for classes. It made for a fun party venue :) Everyone trying out their stuff on the pole while tipsy.

I was babysitting at a wedding. The kids were fun and so cute. But little terrors! I forgot how mischievous kids can be.  I made five bridesmaids dresses for little girls. They ripped them before the ceremony even started....

Brrrr. Did not feel like late May at all.

What I wore:

  • Blue wrap cardigan
  • Scallop neck polka dot dress - bodice based on Danielle pattern, the rest self drafted
  • Lavender petticoat - self drafted, hidden :)

May 31

I made my friend Benoit get up much earlier than he would have liked to and meet me before work. I'm kinda sad that I have to resort to breakfast dates with my friends in order see them.We realised this was the probably the first time we have ever met in the morning in five years of friendship...

  • It was actually one of my fave days of the year - lomtalanítás. Once a year everyone can throw all their old furniture, clothes, suitcases, appliances etc out onto the street. It makes the whole district look TERRIBLE with huge piles of rubble everywhere. I love it! Controlled chaos. People come in from the outer districts and camp out days before the actual lomtalanítás day so that they can get their hands on the good stuff. They then sit there guarding it and you can buy the things you want from them. Or the less prized items you can just take. The next day it is all cleaned up. I found a cool black sparkly jumper :)

    1. Interesting tradition on May 31. I like your outfits and you always seem to have a lot fun, despite working many hours.

    2. Thanks! Actually lomtalanítás is on a different day every year. Usually a Friday. One of my friends just told me he found a fox hat! I kinda wish I had properly gone out hunting through all the rubbish.
