Sewing School

Come learn how to sew in my sewing studio near Nyugati! Start from scratch and learn how the sewing machine works, or come and work on your own projects. Make that dress you have always wanted to, or alter your clothes to fit. Make cushions. It's up to you!

The classes are all for beginners. If you are completely new to sewing I suggest starting with a two hour class to learn how to use a sewing machine

The basics class will cover:
- how to thread the machine
- bobbin winding
- how the top thread and bobbin thread work together
- how to use different stitches (straight, zigzag, button hole, blind stitch)
- changing presser feet

For the basics class you don't need to bring anything (except maybe a notebook if you are the note taking type). Once you have chosen your project you will need: pattern, fabric, thread, bobbin, pins (preferably in a pin cushion), notions (zip, buttons etc).

After you can use the machine you can choose what project to make. A great first project is a toiletry bag, cushion cover, tank top, elastic waist skirt or boxer shorts.

I recommend booking a 2-4 hour block. 1 hour is really not enough to make much progress on an item.

General class fees:
3000 ft per 50 minute class, 10000ft for a four hour block or 20000ft for 8 classes used within 4 weeks of the first class.

Payment is in cash or by bank transfer.
Cancellation policy:
If you have booked a class at least 24 hours notice is required if you cannot attend. If you cancel or don't attend  without giving the required notification unfortunately you will forfeit that class.
If I have to cancel or rearrange a class due to unavoidable circumstances (such as illness, adverse weather or insufficient bookings for the class) I will always try to give you 48 hours notice.  You will be offered a place on an rearranged date, a swap to another class or workshop (subject to available places) or a  refund.

Classes are bookable up to 48 hours before the class.
